Can I put an in-tank EFI fuel pump in the original in-cab 67-72 tank instead of running an inline pump?

Possibly, but we haven't verified a kit made specifically for the in-cab 67–72 tank, so check with the pump or tank maker.

What we can say:

• Universal in-tank modules can go into an EFI tank, an LS swap tank, or a modified original tank. Speedway's universal module adjusts up to 16 in deep and is cut down to fit, leaving about 1/8 in between the pickup base and the tank bottom.
• The tank needs a mounting ring or flange for the module's top plate, and room above it for the fittings.
• In their C10 project, Speedway replaced the behind-the-seat tank with an EFI-ready tank that came with the pump ring, which also moved the tank out of the cab.

If the original tank can't take a module, an external pump mounted low, below the tank is the fallback.
