CompCams LS1 trunnion upgrade — any installation problems?
We don't have a source on the COMP kit specifically. From Jeff Smith's Summit trunnion install:
- A proper pressing tool makes it easier. Summit's includes magnets that hold the fixture in the vise; without them it's a three-handed job.
- Know your rocker type: no-offset cathedral-port, offset-intake LS3 (both 1.7:1), or 1.8:1 LS7.
- Check lifter preload afterward: with the lifter on the base circle, it should take about one full turn from zero lash to seated (about 0.050 in). Torque the bolts to 22 ft-lb.
