Is the 6.0 Vortec an LS engine?
Yes. The 6.0 L "Vortec 6000" truck engines are LS-family V8s: the Gen III LQ4 (1999–2008) and LQ9 (2002–2007), and the Gen IV LY6 (2007–2013) and L96 (2010–2020), all iron-block with a 4.000 in bore and 3.622 in stroke. Aluminum 6.0 variants include the LS2 (car), L76/L77/L98 and the hybrid LFA/LZ1. They share LS mounts, bellhousing pattern and most swap parts.
