What causes P0327 or P0332 knock sensor codes on a Gen 3 LS?

On Gen III LS engines the two knock sensors are one-wire sensors buried in the lifter valley under the intake (ICT Billet). That spot collects oil, debris and water. Water in the sensor holes can short the connection and cause false readings that make the engine run poorly, and the old sensors often strip, seize or break when removed. So P0327/P0332 on a Gen III often points to the sensor, connector or harness in the valley, not actual knock. Check them before chasing detonation.

Fixes: replace the sensors and harness; relocate them to the side of the block (ICT 551216-KN30 adapters + WEKN030-60 extension); or, if your ECU is set up for it, delete them with a valley cover plate (e.g., ICT 551629G). Standalone ECUs are often tuned with knock control disabled because big cams, solid mounts and boost cause false readings.
