How can I tell if this 6.0 is 24x or 58x without tearing it down?
Look at the crank position sensor, on the side of the block behind the starter area: a black sensor means a 24x reluctor (Gen III), and a gray sensor means 58x (Gen IV). Supporting clues: Gen IV engines have the cam sensor on the front timing cover (Gen III has it at the rear of the block), use EV6/USCAR injectors, and are drive-by-wire. The PCM, harness and sensors must all match the reluctor type.
