How to LS swap a Tacoma: parts list and steps
2nd-gen (2005–2015) 2WD Tacoma: Metaltek Manufacturing's 14199K kit ($139.99) is a set of 1/4 in steel frame mounts with urethane and adjustable slider engine brackets. You can move the engine front/back and left/right to position it, and it installs with no drilling. Metaltek lists it for LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LSX, LQ4, LQ9, 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 6.2 engines. It comes unfinished (bare steel), so coat it before installing.
What we haven't sourced yet for the Tacoma: a specific oil pan, headers, transmission crossmember and 4WD mounts. The rest of the swap follows the usual LS checklist:
