Is a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump enough for a 440hp fuel-injected build?
Usually yes. Speedway rates the 255 LPH Walbro in its universal in-tank module as good for roughly 500 hp, and uses it on a cammed 5.3.
Two things to check at 440 hp:
- The rest of the fuel system: Stock LS fuel filter/regulator assembly tops out around 450 hp; beyond that, larger lines and an external regulator. At 440 hp you're close to that limit.
- Boost or E85 change the fuel math. Run your numbers in the fuel system calculator.
