How do you firm up shifts on a 4L60E with HP Tuners?
In the tune: HP Tuners' introduction to transmission tuning names line pressure (higher = firmer), desired shift time (shorter = quicker) and torque management (less reduction during the shift) as the controls for shift feel.
Mechanically: Holley's shift-kit instructions note that on a PCM-controlled 4L60E a shift kit firms shifts without changing the PCM's shift points or pressure calibration. Some people do both.
Caution: HP Tuners warns that changing or disabling torque-management values can shorten transmission life. Firm up in steps, and reset the adapts after big changes. See transmission tuning.
