How do you disable VATS in HP Tuners VCM Editor?
VATS is turned off in the engine computer's calibration — standard on swaps because the recipient vehicle doesn't have the matching theft-deterrent hardware (Chevy Hardcore). Speedway notes Vortec engines need VATS removed from the PCM for a swap to start and run.
Controller differences (HP Tuners): on the E38, VATS removal uses the Write VIN / Tunerlock / VATS flash routine. On most other controllers, a Write Entire generally handles tuner-lock and VATS changes.
