How many HP Tuners credits does it take to license one vehicle?
Usually 2 for the engine computer, but it varies by vehicle. HP Tuners says many ECM/PCM licenses take 2 credits; HP Academy puts the typical range at 2–6.
- The credit costs on HP Tuners' supported-vehicle list are for the engine computer only. A transmission computer (TCM) or other controllers are licensed separately. For example, the C8's T46 transmission controller is 6 credits.
- A license covers that vehicle for good: you can reflash it as many times as you like without more credits.
